The Department of Physical and Health Education at Lead City University focuses on the development of students who have the zeal to partake in Sports and Recreation as professionals. It is also a fertile ground for the acquisition of academic knowledge that benefits individuals and professionals. There are five areas of specialization in the Department. These include:

Dr. John Osondu Onyezere was born on November 19, 1967 to a Christian family at Owerri in Imo State. His academic profile span through Bachelors Degree in 1992 to Doctorate Degree in 2009 all from University of Ibadan, Ibadan. Presently, he is a Senior Lecturer at Lead City University and the Head of Department, Physical and Health Education and a member of Students’ Disciplinary Committee in the University.
His research interests and activities span through Health, wellness and Safety Education as his Ph.D. thesis centered on immunization. His contribution to this field of learning has been published in many learned journals across the ivory towers in Nigeria and beyond. As a professional, Dr. Onyezere is a Member of Nigerian School Health Association (MNHSA) and Nigeria Association of Health Educators (NAHE) and Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
