ICAN Presents Accreditation Certificate to LCU

It was indeed a moment of joy and pride for our young but virile university when the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Entrepreneurial Studies, Professor Muyiwa Sanda accompanied by the Head of the Department of Management & Accounting, Professor Remi Adeyemo were presented with the Certificate of Accreditation of the Accounting Programme of the University by the ICAN President, Chief(Dr.) Richard Uchechukwu at an elaborate ceremony in Lagos.

ICAN earlier last year visited the department of Accountion to conduct the first accreditation exercose. The result of the exercise was communicated to the Vice-Chancellor via a letter dated September 11, 2008 which stated that the B.Sc. Accounting programme of LCU had been given full accreditation for four academic sessions commencing from 2007/2008 academic year. Meanwhile the report of the accreditation team on LCU, ICAN students magazines, the address of the ICAN President at the association and copies of ICAN Journals are available for interested users in the departmental library.

LCU Introduces New Mode of Payment
The university has adopted a new system of fee payment with effect from the 1st of April 2009. This will require the student/parent/guardian to make payment into the fees office via any branch of Zenith Bank Plc by E-tranzact.Once the transaction alert is received by fees office, the faculty manager issues clearance as evidence of payment of fees. Where payment is in respect of obligations other than school fees, a receipt will then be issued by the bursary department and the students records is updated simultaneously. Those who are unaware of the new system and have already prepared their banks drafts the old way, could still go and deposit such drafts fo the E-tranzact payment at the Challenge branch of Zenith Bank Plc.

All Hail the New Library Building

In fulfillment of the vision of the founding spirit of Lead City University to make the University a model for others in the country, the University Library which was temporarily housed in the building of the Faculty of Social Sciences & Entrepreneurial Studies has moved to a more expansive purpose built edifice which is the first building on the right as you enter the campus.

The Magnificent library building is equipped with modern gadgets and stocked with well over 50,000 volumes of textbooks and journals. Other facilities provided in the Library include a modern Electronic Library(E-Library), Serial Section; Reference Section (For lecturers and postgraduate students), the Reprographic Section \nd Technical Services Section.
Staff and Students are Urged to use the facility to the fullest. However the equipments and books are still being arranged for the formal Opening in May after which it will be ready for use.

The library building comprises three interconnected blocks on two floors which for now is far too large for the library stocks. Thus a section is being loaned out to be used as Administration Block so as to create more room for the growing Faculty of Applied Sciences and Information Technology in Block A.

 Welcome to Lead City University

Staff

I'd like to express my warm and heartfelt gratitude and pride as you explore information about Lead City University.

Isn't the Web a wonderful way to begin a relationship! You can get a sketch of the highlights of an institution; sense some of the goals and characteristics that shape its community; and stay as long as you like and collect the contact details, and then put it on pause while you think about whether you want to get involved further. Maybe it would be good if all face-to-face interactions had such dynamics at their beginning.
