The usual briefing of the prospective corps members for the Batch ‘B’ 2016 was held on Wednesday 28th September, 2016 at the University’s International Conference Centre.
The presentation was made by Mrs. Shokpeka Winifred, an Asst. Director, Community Development Services of the NYSC, Lagos office who was accompanied by Mr. Akoteyan Paul of the Logistics Unit and Mr. Olowofela Sunday O. a Technical Officer.
The NYSC official, Mrs. Shokpeka traced the origin of the NYSC to the end of the Nigerian civil war and the need to heal the wounds through 3 R’s – Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Re-integration and which culminated into the establishment of the scheme in 1973.
She went further to talk on the following sub-headings: Objectives of the scheme, the achievement of the scheme, eligibility, exception, exclusion and mobilization process.
The presenter also discussed on the 4 cardinal points of the NYSC which include: Orientation, Primary Assignment (PPA), Secondary Assignment (CDA) and Winding-up (POP).

iii) Call-up letter (colored)
iv) University I.D card
v) NYSC green card
In his closing remark, the Director Student’s Affairs advised the prospective corps members to be of good behavior and be good ambassadors of the University.
