PROFILE QUESTIONS

Q1: Why did you choose to study at LCU?

I chose LCU because I loved the environment and much more importantly, I learnt that the teaching at LCU was not just theoretical, but very practical, hands-on. Especially in my department, we had a lot of practical lessons.

Q2: What is your favourite memory of LCU; a class, a lecturer, an activity or an experience?

Every day at LCU was memorable for me. We had great lecturers who were friendly and made classes interesting. Learning never felt like a chore at LCU.

Q3: What have you done since graduating from LCU?

I was aware that LCU supports her graduates and offers employment to those who wish to work there, so after graduation, I worked with the University for a while as administrative officer. After some time, I decided I was going to pursue my passion which is working with children and making sure that every child under my care has a solid educational foundation. I got a post-graduate diploma in Education from LCU and I started my own school which I called ‘Kids Castle Schools’, consisting of a Creche, Preschool and Grade classes.

Q4: What is your current job role? And what does it involve?

I am the Director of Schools at Kids Castle Schools. I provide academic and administrative leadership in the school. I also run a food business called ‘Yummy Spices and more’. We sell Ofada rice, seasonings and spices

Q5: How did your education at LCU help you get to where you are now?

Education at LCU was an all-round education. The Entrepreneurial Centre at LCU sparked up my interest in running a business. It also taught me not to put all my eggs in one basket but to diversify and create multiple opportunities for myself.

Q6: What advice would you give to prospective students of LCU?

Set achievable goals and remain focused on achieving them.

Q7: What advice would you give to LCU’s current students?

Be proactive. Be ready to work hard and work smart for whatever it is you want to achieve in life. Stay positive always.

Q8: Mention one or two of your proudest professional or personal accomplishments since graduating from LCU.

Every day I impact on the lives of many children; that on its own is an achievement for me. Their successes are my successes. Setting up Kids Castle Schools and ‘Yummy Spices and more’ and running them successfully are major achievements for me.

Q9: If you had it to do all over again, would you still choose LCU?

Yes, I would do it all over again. LCU has an environment that is conducive for learning.

Q10: If the opportunity presents itself, will you be happy to support the University or other LCU Alumni?

Yes! I am passionate about education and it will be my pleasure to share my knowledge and skills with others.
